Saratoga Horses in Focus for Saturday September 2nd

Race 1: Borsa Vento (#9)

Ran well against a solid field of maiden claimers last time.

The Steven Asmussen barn has picked things up over the past few weeks.

DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, horses claimed away from Nick Zito are 11 for 41 (27 percent, $2.19 ROI).

7-2 on ML

Race 8: Thais (#6)

Kept very good company in France, placing in a couple of Group 3 events.

Showed good tactical speed in her races in France, which should help her in this one-mile turf race.

DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Chad Brown is 5 for 10 (50 percent, $3.95 ROI) with foreign shippers in turf routes at Saratoga.

7-2 on ML

Race 9: Mr Havercamp (#1)

Rarely will you see a horse win a turf race as dominantly as he did in that allowance at Woodbine last time.

Should work out a perfect stalking trip from his inside post position.

DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Catherine Day Phillips is 6 for 20 (30 percent, $2.73 ROI) with horses coming off wins and running back in 15 to 25 days.

8-1 on ML
