Belmont Horses in Focus for Sunday, October 27

Race 3: Complexity (#1)

  • The Pace Projector is predicting he will be on the lead in a situation favoring the front-runner.
  • Earned a massive 120 TimeformUS Speed Figure as a 2-year-old, and merely needs to get back to that form.
  • Appears to be working as well as ever for this return to the races.

9-5 on ML

Race 5: One Eyed Jack (#1)

  • Got caught behind a slow pace when facing a pair of stakes-bound runners in his debut.
  • Would have shown improvement stretching out last time, but encountered traffic at the quarter pole.
  • Still has more upside than his main rival Spice Road.

9-5 on ML

Race 7: Pink Sands (#4)

  • Stumbled at the start and was hindered by a slow pace last time out at Churchill Downs.
  • Turning back on the dirt is a good angle and she’s arguably run some of her best races at this 7-furlong distance.
  • Reunites with Jose Ortiz, who rode her in her last 3 victories.

6-1 on ML
