Saratoga Horses in Focus for Sunday, August 5th

Race 4: Karma Delight (#8)

The TimeformUS Pace Projector is predicting a situation favoring runners on or near the lead, and he has the speed to be forwardly placed.

Ran deceptively well last time closing into a slow pace after a flat-footed start.

May be improving at the right time whereas others are heading in the wrong direction.

10-1 on ML

Race 5: Tombelaine (#5)

Handles give in the turf very well, which could come into play after Saturday’s rain.

There is not much pace in this race, and the newfound tactical speed he’s shown in recent starts should ensure he works out a good trip.

Has done well in his limited opportunities in turf sprints and may have a real future over this distance.

8-1 on ML

Race 9: Uncle Gio (#3)

Ran deceptively well last time after going wide around both turns.

Tends to get very rank in his races, so should benefit from a post position more towards the inside.

John Velazquez knows him very well and typically gets him to relax.

9-2 on ML

Race 11: Jazzy Juder (#9)

Ran an incredible race off the layoff last time, making a wide, premature move from last to first around the far turn.

Should be fitter for his second start back from the break.

Jeremiah Englehart gets a 98 TimeformUS Trainer Rating with runners making their second off a trainer change.

7-2 on ML
