Aqueduct Horses in Focus for Thursday, January 18th

Race 2: Pegasus Red (#1)

Was chasing the pace four-wide last time, whereas he’s better off closing from off the pace.

Should appreciate the slight cutback in distance to six furlongs.

DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Jason Servis is 17 for 48 (35 percent, $2.24 ROI) second off the claim in dirt sprints.

5-1 on ML

Race 7: Lover’s Leap (#3)

Should receive an honest pace to close into.

Gets a positive rider switch to Rafael Hernandez.

DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Charlton Baker is 5 for 21 (24 percent, $2.32 ROI) first off a trainer switch in dirt races at NYRA.

6-1 on ML

Race 8: Chilly Bon Bon (#1)

Has run his best races when able to lead wire-to-wire, and possesses the early speed to make the front here.

Handles two turns, and should appreciate the stretch-out in distance.

Drew an advantageous inside post position for this 9-furlong distance.

8-1 on ML
