Belmont Horses in Focus for Saturday, September 30th

Race 3: Avery Island (#6)
Comes out of a pretty live maiden race, where he took plenty of money.
His dam, Kinda Spicy, was a confirmed router, so he should improve with this stretch-out in distance
DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Kiaran McLaughlin is 5 for 16 (31%, $2.71 ROI) with two-year-old maidens stretching out on dirt in their second career starts.
7-2 on ML

Race 7: Stallwalkin’ Dude (#1)
Will get a contested pace to close into with speeds like El Deal, Green Gratto, and Takaful in the mix.
Should appreciate the cutback to six furlongs, which is his best distance.
May have run back too quickly off a big effort last time, and now has had 5 weeks to recover.
8-1 on ML

Race 10: Mekhtaal (#8)
Was never fully clear while searching for running room through the final quarter mile of the Arlington Million.
Ran respectably against some of the best horses in Europe earlier in the year.
DRF Formualor Fact: Over the past five years, Graham Motion is 22 for 70 (31 percent, $3.60 ROI) first off a trainer switch with horses getting Lasix for the first time.
15-1 on ML
