Aqueduct Horses in Focus for Saturday April 8th

Race 1:

Myakka River (#1)

Was green in debut, climbing early, before making a solid late run in the stretch.

His dam was Grade 1-placed at today’s distance.

DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Shug is 6 for 12 (50 percent) for a $4.27 ROI with 3-year-olds-and-up second-time starting maidens in dirt sprints coming off layoffs of 60 days or less.

5-2 on ML

Race 3:

Moon Over a Beauty (#7)

The Pace Projector is predicting he will be on the lead in a situation favoring the front-runner.

Stumbled at the start last time, costing him any chance.

Has run better than it appears on a few occasions.

10-1 on ML

Race 9:

Sassicaia (#3)

Was racing in an uncomfortable position before getting squeezed back at the quarter pole last time.

Had run better than it appears two back after not getting much pace to close into.

An early duel between Green Gratto and Unified would help his cause.

10-1 on ML

Race 10:

Cloud Computing (#7)

Ran almost as well as the winner in the Gotham after contesting a taxing early pace.

The 116 TimeformUS Speed Figure he earned last time is one of the highest in the field.

Should get a more comfortable trip this time as Irad Ortiz has been instructed to rate him just off the pace.

5-2 on ML
