There’s limited turf form to go on in the finale. The obvious horse to beat is Adirondack Luck (#4), who has faced stronger competition in all of her turf races and takes a logical drop in class off this brief layoff. The only knock against her is that she doesn’t have much early speed, but she’s run speed figures that are fast enough to beat this field.
We will definitely use her, but there is a first-time turf runner in the mix who should not be ignored.
ROSEY BAY (#10) didn’t show much in her debut on dirt, but there is a ton of grass breeding on the bottom side of her pedigree. Her dam was most successful on turf, and she has produced turf winners Mr. Rosenthal, Frosty Bay, and Missy Bay. Dominick Schettino actually gets decent trainer ratings with horses switching to turf (a 67 rating with horses making their turf debuts and an 82 with horses moving from dirt to turf). She showed decent speed in her debut and should be forwardly placed throughout here.
