The horse with the best proven turf form is probably Said No One Ever (#4), but he has never raced raced around two turns and must deal with a layoff. He can certainly win, but we believe there are more interesting options at better prices.
Randie’s Dream (#5) hasn’t shown much on dirt but has plenty of turf pedigree on his dam’s side, as a half-brother to turf winners J L Bernstein, My Jopia, and Giant Jo.
But our top selection is D. S. BOYD (#7).
He has raced on turf only once, but that start came against a significantly tougher group. Furthermore, his rider never gave him a chance that day, going four-wide around both turns. D. S. Boyd made a mild middle move coming to the top of the stretch before fading late. Despite his finishing 12th and last, Trakus data indicates that he actually maintained an average speed that was faster than the winner of the race, while traveling a ridiculous 101 feet farther than the horse that took the shortest way around.
