Horses in Focus At Aqueduct and Santa Anita on Sunday March 20th

Hand-selected by The TimeformUS team, Horses in Focus stand out on our feature sets, such as pace projector, TimeformUS speed figures, spotlight ratings, trainer ratings, pedigree ratings, etc. Expect to see TimeformUS Horses in Focus on this blog typically every Wednesday-Sunday. If Horses in Focus are available for tracks with a later post-time, they will be added to this post throughout the day.

Race 6:

Tizsomethingroyal (#5)
Was slow into stride and somewhat green in her debut.
Linda Rice gets just a 58 rating with debut runners, and a 100 rating with second-time starters.
Worked an impressive 10 1/5 seconds at the two-year-old sale, so she should show more speed.
4/1 on ML
Race 7:
Ice Palace (#1)
Was against the race flow last time in a race that held together on the front end.
Should get more pace to run into this time, with two or three frontrunners drawn to her outside.
Gets a positive rider switch to Irad Ortiz.
7/2 on ML
Race 8:
Scarly Charly (#2)
Has run plenty of speed figures that would beat this field.
Last race is not as bad as it looks; he was shuffled out of position on the backstretch.
Mike Hushion gets a 97 trainer rating with horses coming off layoffs of this length.
5/1 on ML

Race 6:

Boozer, the 3 horse:

Pace Projector shows him on a clear early lead.

Solid 114 speed figure down the hill.

Handles distance just fine and is facing easier today.

4-1 on ML.
Race 8:

Mt Veeder, the 1 horse:

Pace Projector shows him on the early lead in a race projected to favor speed.

Baffert gets a 95 rating off this sort of layoff.

Training well enough for his return.

4-1 on ML.
