Horses in Focus At Aqueduct and Santa Anita on Saturday March 19th

Hand-selected by The TimeformUS team, Horses in Focus stand out on our feature sets, such as pace projector, TimeformUS speed figures, spotlight ratings, trainer ratings, pedigree ratings, etc. Expect to see TimeformUS Horses in Focus on this blog typically every Wednesday-Sunday. If Horses in Focus are available for tracks with a later post-time, they will be added to this post throughout the day.

Race 4:

The J Y (#9)
Took money in debut, but did not have a great trip, getting shuffled out of the race in the first furlong.
Working well for return to the races.
Mark Hennig gets a decent 71 trainer rating with horses returning from this type of layoff.
8/1 on ML
Race 5:
Sourcesandmethods (#5)
Is far more consistent than the other contenders in this spot.
Already beat his primary rival Ima Wildcat last time.
Abigail Adist, just a 55-rated first-off-the-claim trainer, gets an 84 rating second off the claim.
4/1 on ML
Race 8:
Yeager (#5)
Almost overcame a terrible trip last time in a race where he made a wide, premature move.
Projected to get a fast pace to close into.
Tom Morley gets an 85 trainer rating with horses racing third off a layoff.
30/1 on ML

Race 3:

Stir Fry, the 13 horse:

Pace Projector shows her on a clear early lead.

Ran a very fast speed figure in her debut.

Looks very hard to handle if she can somehow find a way to run something that looks anything like that race.

4-1 on ML.
Race 4:

To the Bar, the 5 horse:

Was promising before the layoff.

Training superbly for his return.

Ellis gets a 100 rating with maiden graduates up in class.

7-2 on ML.
Race 5:

Country Road, the 3 horse:

Ran a solid effort (figure of 93) down the hill in debut.

Returned to train very well.

Drysdale gets a 93 rating with this rider.

8-1 on ML.
