Horses in Focus At Aqueduct and Santa Anita on Thursday March 17th

Hand-selected by The TimeformUS team, Horses in Focus stand out on our feature sets, such as pace projector, TimeformUS speed figures, spotlight ratings, trainer ratings, pedigree ratings, etc. Expect to see TimeformUS Horses in Focus on this blog typically every Wednesday-Sunday. If Horses in Focus are available for tracks with a later post-time, they will be added to this post throughout the day.

Race 2:

Grandpa’s Princess (#4)
Has had circumstances against her in a few recent starts.
Was put in an uncomfortable position behind and between horses last time; finished well when clear.
Race ratings indicate that this is an easier spot than last time.
3/1 on ML
Race 6:
Jess I Am (#3)
Broke slowly and was then against a slow pace two back.
Ran well at two turns last time; should appreciate turnback to a sprint.
Has already run just as fast as short-priced favorite Magnifier.
6/1 on ML
Race 8:
Puppy Manners (#4)
A plethora of speed types may set the table for a contested pace.
Broke slowly in last two starts, but ran well regardless.
Will likely get ignored in the wagering in favor of off-form runners that are dropping in class.
15/1 on ML

Race 3:

Foxy Fresh, the 3 horse:

Has the fastest last-out speed figure in the field: a 69.

Has trained well since her last race.

Trainer is better second-time out than with first-time starters.

5-2 on ML.
Race 8:

Gymnast Jadie, the 6 horse:

Pace Projector shows her just off the early lead.

Has the fastest last-out speed figure in the field: a 79.

Interesting rider switch, surface switch, and class drop.

5-1 on ML.
