Horses in Focus At Aqueduct and Santa Anita on Friday February 19th

DontLetTheGamePassYouByfortfus

Hand-selected by The TimeformUS team, Horses in Focus stand out on our feature sets, such as pace projector, TimeformUS speed figures, spotlight ratings, trainer ratings, pedigree ratings, etc. Expect to see TimeformUS Horses in Focus on this blog typically every Wednesday-Sunday. If Horses in Focus are available for tracks with a later post-time, they will be added to this post throughout the day.

AQUEDUCT

Race 4:

Don’t Point (#8)
Ran better than it appears in debut when he put in a very strong gallop-out.
Coming out of a very tough field for that claiming level last time.
Is bred to stretch out in distance.
7/2 on ML
——————–
Race 7:

Forty Nine Watts (#6)
Moves from a 56-rated trainer to a 93-rated first-off-the-claim trainer, Michelle Nevin.
Assuming Unstoppable U runs, he is projected to get a fast pace to close into.
Was hindered by a wide trip last time; otherwise in good form.
12/1 on ML
—————————
Race 8:

More Zen Tea (#3)
Ran the best speed figure (112) in the field three back; has had excuses since.
Was shuffled back at a critical point in the running two races back.
Wide post position caused rider to take him too far off the pace last time.
8/1 on ML
———————————
Race 9:

Sugar Gold (#9)
Gets a subtly positive trainer switch to Mitchell Friedman, whose relatively low trainer rating is largely due to an unusually subpar 2015 season.
Projected to get a fast pace to close into.
Has run some of his best races around two turns.
12/1 on ML

SANTA ANITA

Race 4:

Glory Bound, the 3 horse:

Pace Projector shows him in striking position early.

Trainer gets 92 rating with this rider.

Had an impossible task last time; training well for this.

4-1 on ML.
————————
Race 8:

Eight Spokes, the 8 horse:

Pace Projector shows him in striking position early.

Training well enough off the layoff.

Draws good post for this hill and has reasonably competitive speed figures.

4-1 on ML.
