Many horseplayers will single dropdown Eastern Mischief (#1) in their late Pick-4 wagers. She has run the fastest races and has done so against tougher, maiden special weight company. That said, we still have some doubts about whether she really wants to go this far, and Bill Mott has been on quite the cold streak at this meet.
Fortunately, we see an alternative that is likely to go off at a generous price.
NOT AMUSED (#2) gets Lasix for her second start after running much, much better than the 54 speed figure she earned first time out would suggest. Far back in the early going, she launched a wide, premature move on the far turn, losing a ton of ground on a day when you wanted to be racing as close to the rail as possible. Given that impossible trip, she actually ran quite well to be fourth. If she shows routine second-out improvement, she could be a serious threat to the favorite, and the low-profile connections should ensure an inflated price.
