With the races off the turf at Belmont today, #4 Esther the Queen has landed in a good spot in the finale.  She has made just one start on the main track so far, that in her career debut back in April.  It was a fine effort, with a TFUS Speed Figure of 71, which puts her in play here, even without the improvement she has shown subsequently.

After breaking slowly and being steadied back to last in that first start, Esther the Queen put in a good run through the turn while wide to catch up to the field.  She continued to race on through the stretch without threat to the leaders, but she certainly did some running there.  She will face maiden claimers for the first time today, and we like her cutting back in distance for this race.  The wet track is a question for her, but her Breeding Rating of 72 for wet dirt is an improvement on her overall Breeding Rating for dirt of 65.
