Hand-selected by The TimeformUS team, Horses in Focus stand out on our feature sets, such as pace projector, TimeformUS speed figures, spotlight ratings, trainer ratings, pedigree ratings, etc. Expect to see TimeformUS Horses in Focus on this blog typically every Wednesday-Sunday. If Horses in Focus are available for tracks with a later post-time, they will be added to this post throughout the day.

Race 1:

#2 Spango

Drops back down in class while switching from turf to dirt for this, both good moves for this trainer (86 Trainer Rating ALW-to-CLM, 93 turf-to-dirt).

Pace Projector indicates that he is fast enough to get clear early.

7/2 on ML.

Race 3:

#2 Sequiota

Has run her best races over longer routes to this point.

Impressed in 9-furlong maiden win at Tampa with 94 TFUS Speed Figure.

Has since run in two straight slow-paced races, and she finished well last time once she came clear in the stretch.

12/1 on ML.

Race 9:

#2 Congrats to Ken

Drops into MCL company for the first time today.

Trainer gets strong 94 rating going from MSW to MCL.

Raced on well in tougher race off the layoff, finishing less than 2 lengths out of 3rd.

5/1 on ML.

Race 2:
Lana Caprina, the 7 horse:

Showed early speed off previous long layoff.

Training well at Los Alamitos.

Previous dirt races were not quite as awful as they look.

Chance to slip into exotics at huge price.

20-1 on ML.

Race 5:
No Contingency, the 3 horse:

Pace Projector shows him on clear early lead in race favoring speed.

Trainer gets 85 rating with comparable spacing between starts.

In very light here.

3-1 on ML.
