TimeformUS Horses in Focus and Top Plays for Wednesday April 1st

Hand-selected by The TimeformUS team, Horses in Focus stand out on our feature sets, such as pace projector, TimeformUS speed figures, spotlight ratings, trainer ratings, pedigree ratings, etc. We offer expanded analysis on one of the Horses in Focus, as well as designating which horse is our Top Play on the day. Expect to see TimeformUS Horses in Focus on this blog typically every Wednesday-Sunday. If Horses in Focus are available for tracks with a later post-time, they will be added to this post throughout the day.

Horses in Focus at Aqueduct

Race 3:

TimeformUS Top Play at Aqueduct

#4 Broadway Music Gal

Turns back and drops in class for trainer sporting solid ratings with both of those moves (88 ALW-to-CLM, 85 route-to-sprint).

Prior to layoff, earned series of speed figures that make her competitive with the two ML favorites.

Has enough speed to keep in range of the pace, which is expected to favor frontrunners according to Pace Projector.

5/1 on ML.

Win bet on #4.

Race 6:

#7 Overawe

Seemed in need of first career start when keeping up close early, dropping back mid-race, and then rallying late.

Actually improved off of that run in his next start, but lost all chance with a bad stumble at the start, which caused his rider to lose his irons.

Debut hinted at a little speed, and he may fall into the right up-close trip here with blinkers on for the first time.

4/1 on ML.

Race 8:

#5 Red Vine

Seems true wild card in race posing several difficult-to-answer questions.

TFUS Speed Figure of 106 for dirt debut fits very well in this field.

Think shorter distances are better for him, so like that he returns in one-turn mile.

5/1 on ML.
