Race 2:

#11 Holy Ascension will be on a clear early lead, according to Pace Projector. She has run three dirt speed figures that give her an overwhelming advantage in here. She has trained superbly over this track. She has run her number at this distance. Presence of low-profile rider should help her price. Santa Anita favored speed yesterday. If it does so again today, she figures to be extremely difficult to run down.

Selections: 11-4-1-5

Race 3:
#1 Fantastic Style is a first-time starter who gets a Breeding Rating of 83 for dirt sprints, has a trainer who gets a 94 rating with firsters, and has been showing early speed in her workouts, which can go a long way in a 5.5F race over this surface. #5 Cafetiere is a firster with strong workouts, but her trainer is less inclined to crack down right out of the box than Baffert is.

Selections: 1-5-12-8

Race 4:
#7 Buymeabond has competitive speed figures, has been receiving difficult trips, has a top trainer, is a fat price on the ML, and accordingly is worthy of a look in here. #2 Jomelo always fires but will have to work out a trip from behind and will probably take quite a bit of money.

Selections: 7-2-1-4

Race 5:
#6 Secret Circle has strong speed figures, speed to get a stalking trip, and strong works over the surface. #7 Distinctiv Passion can prove very dangerous on the lead if the racetrack favors speed. #4 Appealing Tale is a huge price on the ML for a trainer who gets a 91 rating off this kind of layoff.

Selections: 6-7-4-5

Race 6:
#11 Bolo earned a 97 speed figure breaking his maiden and was visually impressive in the extreme, duelling early from the outside and drawing off late like a future stakes winner. Came back to train in superb fashion. #3 Daddy D T is the likely favorite off the strong third-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.

Selections: 11-3-5-7

Race 7:
#5 Dancinthenightaway has run speed figures of 92 and 93 while scarcely tested. Will be tested today by #10 Sayes So, who raced with the bias but was impressive while running strong pace figures and earning a 90 speed figure.

Selections: 5-10-8-11

Race 8:
#8 Kathleen Rose will be on a clear early lead in a race favoring speed, according to Pace Projector. Has run a series of numbers that fit in here. #2 Three Hearts looks dangerous for Drysdale on the cut-back from 11 furlongs to nine. Pace Projector shows her a stalking second early. She beat similar in her last start and returned to train well.

Selctions: 8-2-3-5

Race 9:
#5 Cyrus Alexander seems more professional at this point in his career than #11 Prospect Park. That could be the difference here, as the talented Prospect Park draws a bad post, seems hard to ride, and could be in line for a difficult trip.

Selections: 5-11-9-4
